Kelsey Funk, M.Ed.

FOUNDER + LEARNING EXPERIENCE DESIGNER

Hi, I'm Kelsey, and I started Spark Learning Design because I genuinely believe training shouldn't feel like a chore. We've all been through those super blah PowerPoint sessions that could have been an email. My passion is helping you cultivate a learning culture on your team that feels authentic and is going to stick. With my background spanning education, corporate learning, and accessibility, I enjoy designing learning experiences that are not only visually engaging but also really impactful for everyone.

I call the northwoods of Minnesota home, and when I'm not designing, you might find me at the local library, project managing a passion project, journaling, connecting with new folks, or just enjoying time with my family at home. From eLearning to onboarding sessions, my philosophy is that every way you reach your audience should ignite curiosity, inspire action, and maybe even make them chuckle.

As a Scrum Master, project manager, and instructional designer, Kara loves breaking down barriers between organizations to foster efficient collaboration and boost productivity. She empowers teams to achieve their best work through continuous improvement and by actively removing obstacles, creating an environment where Agile methodologies can thrive. Her role is all about ensuring the successful delivery of projects by facilitating seamless communication and cooperation amongst diverse teams.

Beyond project management, she designs engaging and impactful learning experiences that enhance understanding and retention. Using data-driven approaches, she assesses and optimizes learning outcomes, continuously refining programs based upon feedback and performance metrics. Her comprehensive training programs bridge the gap between theoretical concepts and real-world application, empowering learners to excel in their roles.
